Here’s the translated interview of Ly Thai Hung aka Doan Bui, General Secretary of Viet Tan, by VietTV Network in 2017. “I think organizations such as political parties communicate, network in secret so that we can collaborate and advocate to help people in Vietnam. For example, when the people struggled, e.g., the Bot Cai Lay affair, or when citizens protested in Ha Tinh Province, we provided financial assistance and other enabling measures to facilitate their struggle. With such assistance, they can struggle more effectively because they are angry at corruption and injustice. This helps our networking efforts. In a setting where the Communists try to suppress dissent or accuse organizations of inciting such protests, we should try to avoid getting into a situation leading to being accused like that. It is very important that we network and assist groups in Vietnam who want to express their anger at social injustice.”

NOTE: The leaders of Viet Tan (“VT”) Reform Party remain intact since 1982 – Hoang Co Minh (‘HCM”), chairman & founding father of VT and the “Front”; In 2004, Nguyen Kim (Huon), succeeded Chairman after HCM died in 1987 and followed by Ly Thai Hung
(2012), current General Secretary .

This is NOT the first time Viet Tan tries to topple the Vietnamese government. As a matter of fact, it was 1983, and Minh had come to a … Minh ultimately mounted three failed incursions into Vietnam and died in 1987 during one of them.
